63 Bills Became Law in January 2025
On Jan 3rd The 119th U.S. Congress convened with the Senate flipping from democratic to republican control. January was the second-most active month in a year for bills becoming law (December had 73)
Publishing this newsletter for just two months has taught me that bills seem to become law in clusters. The recent flurry of Executive Orders has also made me realize that real changes in federal governance can come in multiple forms. That being said I am considering changing the timing to either coincide with the dates the bills actually become law and/or including other legislation like executive orders. Feel free to reply as feedback is appreciated.
